Welcome to The Bean and Leaf

A family-run café, bistro and restaurant situated on the promenade in the picturesque seaside town of Largs.

Open daily from 9am, we serve breakfast, fruit juices, pastries and coffees, through to lite bites, casual lunches and relaxed dinners. Our all-day menu includes simply-prepared, delicious dishes that offer something for everyone using locally-sourced, fresh ingredients, with seafood and steaks a speciality.

Whether it’s a breakfast meeting with free WiFi, a catch-up with friends over lunch and a glass of wine, or a romantic dinner for two at the most popular table in the restaurant (Table 15) situated beside the log fire, it’s perfect for any occasion. Two ladies have said “Yes!” at this table during the last 12 months. The building was purpose-built for the Tourist Information Board and was acquired by Toni Dawson in 2002 and originally established as a Coffee & Gift Shop. Together with her brother, Maxwell, and his wife, Madeleine, the business was developed further in March 2009 into the stylish, contemporary eatery that it is today. Each of them shares a commitment for attention to detail with a passion for good food and great service.

From casual dining to a special celebration, The Bean and Leaf is suitable for all occasions whether it be dinner for two or a private function. Together with their team of staff, the family look forward to welcoming you where you can relax by the log fire and take full advantage of their hospitality and enjoy a laugh a minute and a bit of banter with Max – Mad Max!
